Protein-biding columns can be easily prepared by filling the column with a  desired protein solutions and conducting incubation because SPM contains reactive epoxide groups on its surface. A wide variety of applications are possible with SPM, including its use as an affinity column based on ligand selectivity and examining interactions between small-molecule drugs and proteins.
